Jamaica, VA – After a very successful Prelude to the World Championship weekend Virginia Motor Speedway officials are excited to return to racing this Saturday, September 7th and host Collision One Championship Night and week 13 of Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action. The will crown champions in all four of the speedway’s Dirt Series Championship divisions in action. See the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in some exciting side by side racing that will decide who gets crowned champion. Competitor gates for Saturday, September 7th, will open at 4 pm with spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30 pm for hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday: Victory Lap Pro Late Models (35 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (30 laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (30 laps) and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars (25 laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features. Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway will return to racing on Saturday, June 29th and host week 6 of Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action. The night will feature all four of the speedway’s Dirt Series Championship divisions in action. See the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in some exciting side by side racing! After a rainout on June 8 Corey Almond of Appomattox, VA holds a 5-point advantage over Justin Williams of Concord, VA in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model points. With the division averaging 26 cars a week, this is the most competitive division at the speedway. In the Budweiser Modified division, there have been three different winners in as many races with defending champion Hunter McClendon of Williamsburg, VA holding a 20-point lead over Lance Grady of Hanover, VA in the race for the championship. The tightest points battle is in the Truckin Thunder Sportsman division where Tyler Shipp of Mechanicsville, VA holds a slim 1-point advantage over defending champion Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA. And in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division Corey Bradley of Hopewell, VA holds a 3-point advantage over defending champion James Givens of Henrico, VA. With the points so tight and every race more important than the next, this Saturday nights racing should be unbelievably exciting. Jamaica, VA – Speedway officials have announced that 2019 driver registration is now open for all Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly divisions. Competitors are encouraged to get their registration in before the opening weekend. Registration is once again $100 for the year OR $25 per race. Number choice for the top twenty (20) in 2018 points is secured until February 28, 2019, at that time all numbers will be first come, first served. Competitors can print off the 2019 forms and mail them in with a check or provide credit card info at the bottom of the registration form. There is a $3 convenience fee when using a credit card. There are three forms that MUST be filled out for registration. Please have them all filled out and returned. Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway has released the schedule for the 2019 season. It will mark the 50th season of action at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA. The schedule includes twelve (12) nights of weekly racing action, the return of 410 sprint cars with the April 11th Thursday Night Thunder featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions and Tony Stewart competing, two Ultimate Super Late Model sanctioned events – the April 20th $20,000 to win Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth and the June 15th $20,000 to win 43rd Annual USA 100; the history making $50,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment weekend and two mud bogs at the facilities state-of-the-art 200 mud bog pit. The 50th anniversary season opening event for the speedway’s four weekly divisions will take place on Saturday April 27th featuring a full program of action that will include the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock divisions. The season’s first special event will be Thursday April 11th with the return of 410 sprint cars for a $10,000 to win, $1000 to start event. Thursday Night Thunder will feature the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series with Tony Stewart competing. The UMP Modifieds will also be competing in the first event of the Dirt Cup Challenge 2019 and will pay $3000 to win. April 20th sees the return of the Ultimate Super Late Model Series for the $20,000 to win King of the Commonwealth along with a $3000 to win FASTRAK National event for Pro Late Models. The event will have a Sunday April 21st rain date. June 15TH the Ultimate Super Late Model Series stars and cars will return for the 43rd Annual USA and pay $20,000 to win. Jamaica, VA – Pro Late Model racing’s richest weekend is almost here. The much anticipated FASTRAK World Championship weekend is set for Friday and Saturday September 14 – 15, 2018 at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA. Track officials are busy preparing the facilities for what is expected to be another record car count. The weekend will put the spotlight squarely on the country’s best Pro Late Model drivers. This mega race will pay the winner a cool $20,000. With a total payout over $80,000, it is the richest weekend in all of Pro Late Model racing. The weekend kicks off with Friday’s FASTRAK World Challenge, a member only $5,000 to win, 40 lap race. Members are required to have competed in at least seven FASTRAK sanctioned events in the 2018 season. The following night is the FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment, a $20,000 to win 60 lap feature event that is open to all Pro Late Model competitors. In the event of rain, Sunday September 16th is currently scheduled as the rain date. Admission prices for Friday’s World Challenge event are adults $15, senior and military $12, students (11-17) $10 and children 10 and under free. Admission for Saturday’s FASTRAK World Championship are adults $35, senior and military $25, students (11-17) $15 and children 10 and under free.
