Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host the first of two mud bogs for the 2015 season on Saturday June 20, 2015. The 8th Annual Down & Dirty Mud Mayhem presented by James River Equipment will kick off the 11th season for The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway. Additional sponsorship provided by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Kalbone’s Speed & Off Road, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One and Truckin Thunder. There will be nine classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. Gates and registration will open at 9am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. Registration and inspection for all classes ends at 11:30pm. Rules for each class are now available at www.thepitatvms.com. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to dampen the spirits of those in attendance with cold and rainy weather for 10th Annual Down & Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, the Virginia National Guard and RedNex Sporting at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway, but everyone in attendance was treated to one of the best shows in the ten year history of the facility. The event was also sponsored by Monster Energy Drinks, Kalbones Speed Shop & Offroad, Aaron’s, Collision One, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, ORI of Richmond and Truckin Thunder. The great crowd was treated to some great action in both the mud bog and mud sling pits as Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas set a new division track record in the Monster Energy Pro Mod B class with a 4.246 second pass and Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile set a new division track record in the Virginia Army National Guard XX-Paddle class with a pass of 2.263 seconds, breaking his own record that had stood since 2011. 92 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 218 registered passes. Winners in each class: Super Stock A – Neil McClanan of Moyock, NC in Never Enough; Super Stock B – Neil McClanan of Moyock, NC in Never Enough; Modified A – Chris Fifer of Altavista, VA in Swamp Rat; Modified B – Brian Vick of Moyock, NC in Pic Pocket; Pro Mod A – George Johnson of Hayes, VA in Gold Digger; Pro Mod B – Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas; Unlimited Bog – Daniel Davis of Petersburg, VA – Mr. Nasty Time; X Class – Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile; and XX Class – Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile. For the second time the Atkins Petroleum & Propane “King of the Hill” Double Down Bonus was offered for anyone that could win both the A & B classes in the Super Stock, Modified and Pro Mod divisions. Jamaica, VA — Officials for The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have released the running order for the 10th Annual Down and Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, RedNex Sporting Goods and the Virginia Army National Guard. Since the June 21st 5th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog the facility has had a major face lift. The facility will now feature two mud bog pits and a sling pit. All pits are still 200 feet long. There will now be a cable pit (Pit 1) that will have the Super Stock and Modified classes running in and a new non-cable pit (Pit 2) that will feature the Pro Mod and Unlimited Bog divisions. As always the sling pit will feature the X-Cut and X-Paddle dragster divisions. Pit 1 will start t 12 noon with the Suepr Stock A Class followed by the Mod A, Super Stock B and then the Mod B classes. Pit 2 will get started at about 1:30pm with the Pro Mod A (Small tire) class. The two pits will run simultaneously from 1:30pm on. One lane will go then the next and so on. This will allow for little downtime and keep our fans excited all day long! Jamaica, VA – With the 10th Anniversary season just over a week away with the running of the 5th (should be 6th) Annual Mud Mayhem presented by James River Equipment, VA National Guard and RedNex Sporting Goods on Saturday June 21st, officials have released the new division payouts for 2014. The Super Stock A & B classes will now race for $500 to win, $300 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd, $75 for 4th and $50 for 5th. In the Mod A & B divisions they are now racing for $600 to win, $400 for 2nd, $200 for 3rd, $100 for 4th and $75 for 5th, In the Pro Mod A & B divisions they will race for $800 to win, $500 for 2nd, $200 for 3rd, $100 for 4th and $75 for 5th. In the Unlimited bog it will pay $500 to win, $200 for 2nd and $100 for third. Shear Stylin’ (owned by Julie Waldrop) is sponsoring the 4th and 5th place payouts in the Super Stock, Mod and Pro Mod divisions. The X and XX divisions will continue to race for $750 to win, $350 for 2nd and $150 for 3rd. There is an Injector Bonus (Non-Blower Motor) in both classes that pays $300 for the 1st, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosted the 9th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, Mud Sling and Truck Show presented by James River Equipment, Virginia Army National Guard and in part by Down and Dirty Virginia, Monster Energy Drink, After Hours Fabrication, Truckin Thunder and Collision One this past Saturday October 19th to a very enthusiastic crowd of mud maniacs. The rainy day could not dampen the spirits of the mud bogging faithful as they came out in full force to take part in the event. Overall 107 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 194 total passes. Adding to the excitement Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and Maxey Broadus in Walking Tall put on a fantastic Down and Dirty freestyle monster truck show for the fans with some high flying maneuvers. Winners in each class: Super Stock A – Ogle Forrest Jr, in Buster; Super Stock B – Neil McClanan in Never Enough; Modified A – Richard Rainey in Swamp Rat; Modified B – Daniel Davis – Mr. Nasty Time; Modified C – Ray Adkins in Haulin Gas; Pro Mod – Daniel Davis – Mr. Nasty Time; Unlimited Bog – Ray Adkins in Haulin Gas; X Cuts – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; and XX Paddles – Chuck Brown in Mudaholic. Jamaica, VA – Due to the excessive rains overnight and into the morning hours officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway were forced to postpone today’s 9th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment / Rappahannock Tractor and The Virginia Army National Guard until next Saturday October 19th. “It is very disappointing to have to postpone today’s event, but with the excessive rain it has made the competitor area unsafe, it would have been almost impossible to get the rigs in and out of the area,” commented General Manager Clarke Sawyer.
