Jamaica, VA – To say that officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway are anxiously awaiting the running of the 14th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment and WhosYourDriver.org would be an understatement. With the spring mud bog rained out officials, fans and competitors alike are all ready for some of the best mud bogging on the East Coast. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will once again run a short course for time. Plans are to make a few changes to the course before October 13th. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include a car crushing monster truck freestyle show that will include three monster trucks and is sure to be a hit with adults and kids alike. Gates and registration will open at 9am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. Jamaica, VA – With over 2 ½ inches of rain already and a forecast for 90% of storms both today and tomorrow, officials at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have made the tough decision to cancel the 11th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog presented by James River Equipment and WhosYourDriver.org. “We never want to cancel an event, but with the amount of rain we have had, and the wet weekend forecast we have to think of the safety of our competitors and fans,” commented General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Jamaica, VA – Just when you think that the current track records are as low as they can go they get broken again. Cooler than normal temperatures led to five new track records during the 13th Annual Run -A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, Commonwealth Motorsports and Essex Concrete and in part by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission, Middlesex Metals and Truckin Thunder. A great crowd was on hand to see some of the East Coast’s top mud boggers tackle the 200 foot pit. 67 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 138 completed passes. Winners in each class: Super Stock A – Casey Coates in Doin’ It Dirty; Super Stock B – Wayne Farmer in Dirty Money II; Modified A – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Modified B – Charlie Wood in Mudweiser; Pro Mod A – Denny Kerley in Soot; Pro Mod B – Denny Kerley in Snoot; Unlimited Bog – Denny Kerley – Snoot; Unlimited X Tractor – Nathan Leach in Can’t Hurt It; Obstacle X – Brian Vick in Pick Pocket; X Cuts – Travis Shoemaker in Highroller IV; and XX Paddles – Travis Shoemaker in Highroller IV. Five track records were broken during the day’s events with each scoring a $100 bonus in the Tadpole’s Break the Record Challenge presented by E&E Caulking. In the Super Stock B division Wayne Farmer in Dirty Money II set the new division track record with a 5.061 second pass; the previous record was set in May of this year. In the Mod A division Charlie Wood in Mudweiser broke a division track record that was set way back in 2010 with a 4.162 second pass, Wood also set a new division track record in the Mod B division with a 4.244 second pass, breaking the record that was set this past May. In the Pro Mod B division Denny Kerley in Snoot set a new division track record with a 3.899 second pass besting the previous record set in May of this year and in the Unlimited Bog divisions Kerley lowered his own record set in 2015 with a pass of 3.899 seconds. The Mud Mayhem Mud Bog presented James River Equipment, Commonwealth Motorsports and Essex Concrete and in part by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One and Truckin Thunder drew a huge crowd and great field of competitors at the state of the art mud bog facility in Jamaica, VA. The sunny temperatures and sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. 68 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 146 completed passes. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hit the Trifecta this past Saturday with great weather, a huge crowd and an overflowing pit full of competitors for the 12th Annual Down and Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motorsports. The event was also sponsored by Aaron’s, Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Mud Book, Kings of Mud, The Metal Shop and Truckin Thunder. Overall 102 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 221 registered passes. The day also saw the successful introduction of two new divisions with Mechanicsville, VA’s Matthew Underwood in Hells Bells taking the win in Unlimited X Tractor and King William, VA’s Ray Adkins in Haulin’ Gas taking the win in Obstacle X. Both divisions were the first to run a short course for time. It happened twice with Casey Coates in Doin’ It Dirty taking both Stock classes and newcomer Charlie Wood in Mudwesier taking the win in both Modified classes. The Mega Maniac Challenge presented by Northern Neck Chevrolet offered a $1000 bonus to the winner of the new Unlimited X Tractor and it went to Matthew Underwood in Hells Bells.
