Tickets for April 11 Thursday Night Thunder Go on Pre-Sale Monday March 18

Jamaica, VA – Speedway officials are happy to announce that tickets for the April 11th Thursday Night Thunder presented by WhosYourDriver.org and TireX will go on pre-sale to the public Monday, March 18th beginning at 9am. The Thursday night show will be the opening night of Virginia Motor Speedway’s 50th Anniversary season and will be the return of 410 sprint cars to the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA since 2009. The $10,000 to win – $1000 to start feature will see former NASCAR stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne behind the wheel of a sprint car. A talented field of drivers is expected for this special Thursday night race that is the first point race of the year for the All Stars. Joining the sprint cars on the schedule will be the UMP Modified division competing in a $3000 to win event. That event will be the opening race of the 2019 Dirt Cup Challenge and be a national point event. Credit card purchases can be made over the phone by calling 804-758-1867 between the hours of 9am – 4pm Monday through Friday. The speedway accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover. There will be a $3 charge per credit card order. Fans can also buy tickets at the speedway office during the same time frame. Ticket pricing for Thursday Night Thunder will see adults $35, senior (60+) / military $30, students (13-17) $15 and children 12 and under free. All tickets are general admission seating. Pit passes (regardless of age) are $40 and get you a seat in the grandstands. Spectator gates will open at 5pm with hot laps beginning at 6:30pm and racing expected to start at 8pm with heat races. Fans will also want to mark their calendars for Saturday, April 20th for the $20,000 to win King of the Commonwealth featuring the Ultimate Super Late Model Series competitors 60 lap affair along with a $3000 to win event for FASTRAK Pro Late Model competitors. Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a 1/2-mile, dirt oval. The track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area....
