The rule in question is under Cylinder Heads 15.2.11. the rule should state NO MINIMUM CC instead of HEAD PART NUMBER WILL DETERMINE CC. Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway has released the 2018 rules packages for the Budweiser Modified, Truckin Thunder sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions. FASTRAK Pro Late Model rules for 2018 will be released after the FASTRAK Banquet. It is the responsibility of the driver / crews to read the new rules fully as all division and General Rules have changes for 2018. Speedway Crowns 2017 Champions; Shelton crowned Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion

Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway officially wrapped up the 2017 season by recognizing the top ten in each of the track’s divisions with special attention reserved for the 2017 champions. During the night’s events almost $36,000 in cash and prizes were awarded, of that almost $27,000 was in cash. Justin Williams of Concord, VA was crowned the 2017 Victory Lap Pro Late Model Champion for the second year in a row and received a check for $5,000 for his efforts. Williams also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. The title was Williams fifth in a row at Virginia Motor Speedway. Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA was crowned the 2017 Truckin Thunder Sportsman Champion and received a check for $1,000 for his efforts. Jamerson also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. This was Shelton’s second Truckin Thunder Sportsman title. Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA was crowned the 2017 Budweiser Modified Champion for the second year in a row and received a check for $1,000, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography, his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. James Givens of Henrico, VA was crowned the 2017 Collision One Limited Stock Car Champion and received a check for $700, a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography his Championship helmet trophy and his Champions jacket from Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. This is Givens’ second Limited Stock title. During his speech Givens announced he would be moving up to the Victory Lap Pro Late Model division in 2018. The speedway also crowns an overall Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion which pits all four divisions against each other. Tim Shelton, on the strength of his five wins and his eight top 5’s, won the overall Championship and received a $2000 check and the special eagle trophy that goes along with winning the title. Aaron’s also presented Shelton with a 50” Phillips 4K Ultra HD television. Special achievement award winners for the 2017 season included: The Pitts Lumber Rookies of the Year were Matt Quade of Avenue, MD in Victory Lap Pro Late Models; Tyler Shipp of Mechancisville, VA in Truckin Thunder Sportsman; Tim Schulte of Troy, VA in Budweiser Modifieds and Trent Clemans of Providence Forge, VA in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division. Each winner received a plaque and $250. It was announced during the banquet that the season will start April 7, 2018 with Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing and that the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth (April 14), USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports (June 16), both sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series, will once again pay $20,000 to win as will the season ending FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment (September 14–15) for FASTRAK Pro Late Models. Jamaica, VA – To say that officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway are anxiously awaiting the running of the 13th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, Commonwealth Motorsports and Essex Concrete would be an understatement. Additional sponsorship for the Run-A-Muck Mud Bog is provided by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission and Truckin Thunder. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Competitors are encouraged to visit www.thepitatvms.com for the rules packages and payouts. The Unlimited X Tractor and Obstacle X divisions will once again run a short course for time. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include a car crushing monster truck freestyle show by Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and a yet to be named truck and driver. Gates and registration will open at 9am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. The weekend will put the spotlight squarely on the country’s best Pro Late Model drivers. This year the stakes are higher as the winner’s share was increased to $20,000. With a total payout over $80,000, it is the richest weekend in all of Pro Late Model racing. The weekend kicks off with Friday’s FASTRAK World Challenge, a members only $5,000 to win, 40 lap race. Members are required to have competed in at least ten FASTRAK sanctioned events in the 2017 season. The following night is the FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment, a $20,000 to win 60 lap feature event that is open to all Pro Late Model competitors. In the event of rain, Sunday September 17th is currently scheduled as the rain date. The Southeast Dirt Modified Series will also host their final event of the season and crown a champion in the $3000 to win Southeast Modified Championship. Jamaica, VA – The speedway will return to racing Saturday August 26, 2017 to host Northern Neck Chevrolet | Collision One Back to School Night and week 12 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship Weekly Racing season featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in action. Saturday August 26th the speedway, along with its sponsors, will be collecting food and donations for FeedMore and the Northern Neck Food Bank. For every five (5) non-perishable food items donated race fans will receive one (1) FREE general admission ticket to the night’s racing. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can get free. For a list of suggested food items please visit the track website or visit www.feedmore.org and click on Food Drive. The shelves at the local food banks are really bare at this time of year and we encourage everyone to bring as many items as they can to donate. The speedway will also be handing out backpacks, while supplies last, courtesy of ChildHelp to every child that comes to the front gate between the hours of 5pm and 8pm. It is estimated we have over 3000 back packs to give out.
