The refund instructions are as follows. – For those wanting a refund, please send your ticket stubs to the track and to the attention of Bill Sawyer and we will send you a check. Or, bring them to the ticket office at our next event to get your refund. Anyone that bought advance tickets through our MyRacePass link will have their refund automatically deposited in their accounts by end of Wednesday. – Pro Late Model and Sportsman competitors can exchange their pit pass wristbands at our next event (June 11). For any Pro Late Model competitors that are not weekly competitors, you can send your wristbands in but, they must be accompanied by your name and car number. ...

Ross Bailes Wins Rain-Shortened Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth at Virginia Motor Speedway

Jamaica, VA – What looked to be a good night of racing ended with rain shortening the event and Ross Bailes of Clover, SC, being declared the winner of the $20,000 to win in the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth after only 23 laps of racing. Track owner Bill Sawyer decided that he would pay everyone as if they had completed the full 60 laps. On the drop of the green flag, pole-sitter and defending champion Brandon Overton shot out to the lead. Overton held a 10-car-length advantage over Bailes as the two raced into traffic. Overton worked traffic efficiently for several laps before contact with a lapped car allowed Bailes to get by for the lead on lap 17. Two laps later, a caution fell when Jeff Smith slowed in turn 2, bringing out a caution. On the restart, Bailes pulled away from Zack Mitchell and held the lead until rain brought the field to a red flag. The rain persisted to the point that the track had no choice but to call the race as completed with Bailes, the winner. Rounding out the top five were Zack Mitchell, Ben Watkins, Kenny Moreland, and Dale Hollidge. A decision on the FASTRAK Pro Late Model and Truckin Thunder Sportsman features will be made at a later date. The speedway will take the Memorial Day weekend off and the following weekend and return to racing on Saturday, June 11 and host week 3 of Dirt Series Championship weekly racing. Speedway Reschedules Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth to Spring of 2021

Jamaica, VA (MAY 26, 2020) – Virginia Motor Speedway officials have announced that this weekend’s (May 30th) Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth, sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series and FASTRAK Racing, has been rescheduled for Spring of 2021. With restrictions on mass gatherings issued by the State remaining in effect, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic continues to have Virginia Motor Speedway’s 51st season on hold. “This decision comes per CDC guidelines, and the State of Virginia banning events of 10 or more people. We are extremely disappointed that we will not be able to host one of the track’s marquee events and region’s top dirt late model events again this year,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer. Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with federal, state, local, and public health officials, along with information based on guidelines from the CDC to determine when it will be safe to reopen. Speedway to host the 40th Annual Aaron’s USA 100 This Saturday August 6th; Final Race of the Colonial Clash Championship

Jamaica, VA – After a two month wait the stars are cars of the Ultimate Super Late Model Series will finally get the green flag for the $20,000 to win 40th Annual Aaron’s USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports and what will be a phenomenal night of racing at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway this Saturday August 6th. Mother Nature caused the rescheduling of the event from its original scheduled date of June 4th with some pretty nasty weather. Officials of both the speedway and the series worked diligently to reschedule the USA 100 and now the time has come to see who can take home the $20,000 winners check, the “famous” eagle trophy and also see who will be crowned the inaugural Colonial Clash Championship presented by Dirt Nation Champion. Ernie Shelton’s USA 100 is now the final event of the four race mini-series the Colonial Clash Championship. Mother Nature Causes Postponement of $20,000 to win Aaron’s USA 100 till August 6

Jamaica, Virginia (June 4, 2016) – Once again Mother Nature has caused a race at Virginia Motor Speedway to be canceled. After extensive discussion and study of weather forecasts for the area, officials of Virginia Motor Speedway have reluctantly decided to cancel Saturday’s $20,000 to win Aaron’s USA 100 and reschedule it for Saturday August 6, 2016. “In the 40 years I have been involved in racing I have never seen anything like this, we just can’t catch a break with the weather.” said Virginia Motor owner Bill Sawyer. Sawyer added, “With the forecast calling for more storms this afternoon and night after what was a deluge of rain overnight that soaked the grounds, we felt it in the best interest of our fans, competitors and our great sponsors Aaron’s and Commonwealth Motorsports to make the call earlier than later.” The 40th Aaron’s USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports will now be the final race of the Colonial Clash Championship presented by Dirt Nation on August 6. Weather also postponed the Potomac Speedway show on Friday June 3 and Winchester Speedway has been forced to postpone their event as well to a terrible forecast for Sunday June 5. The Potomac Speedway event will be reschedule for Saturday July 2 and Winchester the following night Sunday July 3. Winchester Speedway has graciously given their Super Late Models off for the August 6th USA 100 make-up date. “We have to thank Greg Gunter and Denise Hollidge for giving their top division off on our reschedule date; their cooperation is greatly appreciated,” added Sawyer. Virginia Motor Speedway will be back in action next Saturday June 11th for the rescheduled Truckin Thunder / Northern Neck Chevrolet Scout Night and the annual visit of the S.T.A.R. Kids out of Gloucester, VA. All four divisions of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship divisions will be in action that night.
