Jamaica, VA (MAY 26, 2020) – Virginia Motor Speedway officials have announced that this weekend’s (May 30th) Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth, sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series and FASTRAK Racing, has been rescheduled for Spring of 2021.

With restrictions on mass gatherings issued by the State remaining in effect, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic continues to have Virginia Motor Speedway’s 51st season on hold.

“This decision comes per CDC guidelines, and the State of Virginia banning events of 10 or more people. We are extremely disappointed that we will not be able to host one of the track’s marquee events and region’s top dirt late model events again this year,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer.

Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with federal, state, local, and public health officials, along with information based on guidelines from the CDC to determine when it will be safe to reopen. The health and safety of our race fans and drivers is our top priority.

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a 1/2-mile, dirt oval. The track located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland, and the Hampton Roads area.
