Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway returns to racing this Saturday August 29th to host Northern Neck Chevrolet / Pepsi / WIGO Night and week thirteen of the 2015 VMS Dirt Series season featuring the Victory Lap Late Model, Aaron’s Pro Late Model, Budweiser Modified, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. With only two championship point races left the action on the track is sure to be exciting. In the Victory Lap Late Models defending champion Justin Williams of Concord, VA holds a one point lead over David Williams of Mechanicsville, MD in what is the tightest point battle of all five divisions. In the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division third generation driver Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA holds a 41 point advantage over Mark Parks of Lynchburg, VA. If Bare holds on to collect the championship he will join his grandfather and father as champions at the speedway. In the Budweiser Modified division Matt Quade Mechanicsville, MD continues to lead the points even after a tough outing last time out. Quade has a 26 point lead on Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA with two races to go. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman division Chad Beahr of Mechanicsville, VA holds a 14 point advantage over Tommy Upshaw of West Point, VA. Former track champion Roger Jamerson of Mechanicsville, VA will be trying to collect his 200th victory come Saturday night. And in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division Ryan Hutchens of Providence Forge, VA continues atop the standings with a 36 point advantage over Chad Champion of Beaverdam, VA. DUNCAN HOLDS OFF ARTHUR FOR CAREER FIRST AARON’S PRO LATE MODEL WIN; J. WILLIAMS, QUADE, ADKINS AND GIVENS ALSO WIN

Jamaica, VA – A record breaking crowd got to see some great racing at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway for Xtra 99.1 | Hockey Fights Hunger Night that included a career first Aaron’s Pro Late Model win by Jimmy Duncan of Fredericksburg, VA. The speedway also collected an estimated 5000 pounds of food for FeedMore which operates the food bank. Duncan grab the lead on the opening lap and pulled away while the field battled for second on back. A caution on lap 22 erased a huge lead and set up a three lap dash for the win between Duncan and Walker Arthur. Arthur tried several times to get inside Duncan but Duncan was up to the challenge and went on to score his career first Aaron’s Pro Late Model win. “We have worked so hard to get here in victory lane in this division; the competition is so tough that it just makes this win that much sweeter,” commented a very elated Duncan in victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Walker Arthur, Davis Lipscombe, Tyler Bare and Ricky Wells. In other action Justin Williams of Concord, VA picked up his third Victory Lap Late Model win of the season. In the Budweiser Modified division Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD caused the first caution went to the rear and then made the winning pass on lap 22 to score his fifth win of the season. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman Brett Adkins of Saluda, VA picked up the win in a caution field feature. And in the Collision One Limited Stock division James Givens of Henrico, VA took the lead from Ryan Hutchens on lap 14 and went on to score his fourth win in a row. Jimmy Duncan and Corey Almond led the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division to green with Duncan grabbing the lead out of turn 2. Behind him the battle for second went three wide between Ricky Wells, Walker Arthur and Davis Lipscombe with Arthur taking over the second spot. On lap 21 Arthur began his assault on the top spot but Duncan was able to hold off every challenge. A caution on lap 22 set up a three lap dash for the win. On the restart Duncan got a good start but Arthur worked back to his inside. Each time Duncan was able to hold Arthur off and went on to score his career first win in the division. Rounding out the top five were Arthur, Lipscombe, fast qualifier Tyler Bare and Ricky Wells. In the Victory Lap Late Model 30 lap feature current point leader and defending champion used a daring pass on the opening lap to take the lead and go on to take his third win of the season. On the drop of the green flag Williams made it three wide in turn 1 with Billy Hubbard and David Williams. Once out front Justin Williams pulled away while David Williams and Walker Arthur put on a great battle for second. Williams would go on to win his third race of the season and second in a row. Rounding out the top five were David Williams, Walker Arthur, Michael Batten and Stephen Childress. In the Budweiser Modified 25 lap feature defending champion Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD took the lead from race leader Brent Bordeaux of Fredericksburg, VA with a pass out of turn 4 on lap 22 and went on to score his fifth win of the season. Quade’s win did not come easy as he caused the races first caution wrecking in turn 1. After going to the rear Quade picked off cars one by one making his front making into the top five with 9 laps to go. For the next five laps Qaude worked the back of Bordeaux for the lead finally taking it on lap 22. Quade would then cruise to the win. Rounding out the top five were Bordeaux, Mike Reynolds, Hunter McClendon and Joey Polevoy. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman 20 lap feature Brett Adkins took the lead from Matt Ashworth on lap 14 and went on to win the caution filled event. Timmy Brann and Ashworth led the field to green with Ashworth taking over the top spot out of turn 2. With Ashworth out front a three wide battle for second between Brann, Tim Shelton and Adkins heated up. When it was all said and done Adkins had control of second and set out to reel in Ashworth. On lap 14 Adkins powered inside Ashworth down the backstretch to take over the lead and then went on to his third win of the season and second in a row. Rounding out the top five were Jeremiah Marshall, Roger Jamerson, Tim Shelton and Troy Doggett. In the Collision One Limited Stock Car 20 lap feature David Bowler and Chad Champion led the field to green with Champion taking the lead on the opening circuit. Behind Champion Brian Bradley, Ryan Hutchens and James Givens joined the battle for the lead the four drivers went four wide on several occasions. On lap 7 Ryan Hutchens got by to take the lead with Bradley and Givens in tow. On lap 12 Givens got under Bradley in turn 4 for second and set out for Hutchens. On lap 14 got inside Hutchens in turn 3 and took the lead at the line. Once out front Givens was able to motor to his fourth win in a row. Rounding out the top five were Hutchens, Cory Bradley, Marty Coltrain and Chad Champion. Buck Roadcap Wires Field for First Late Model Win; Quad Scores Third Win in a Row while Thompson, Jamerson and Givens Grab First Victories of Season

Jamaica, VA – All eyes were on defending champion Justin Williams of Concord, VA to see if he could come from his sixth place starting position and win for the second time in a row but Buck Roadcap of Waynesboro, VA had other thoughts. Roadcap survived a three wide battle with Billy Tucker and David Williams to take the lead, one he would not relinquish. Roadcap would fend off the challenges of David Williams over the final 25 laps to score his career first win at Virginia Motor Speedway. “I have been trying for over a year now to get a win here at Virginia Motor Speedway and now I’m got that win. I have to thank Booper Bare for the setup advice he gave me this past week,” commented an elated Buck Roadcap in victory lane. Rounding out the top five were David Williams, Joe Ender, Billy Tucker and Billy Hubbard. Defending champion Justin Williams would rebound from a couple of scrapes with the wall to finish sixth. In other action eighth starting Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, MD took the lead on lap 4 of the Budweiser Modified feature and went on to his third win in a row; in the Aaron’s Pro Late Model feature defending champion Bobby Thompson of Concord, VA took home his first win of the season; Roger Jamerson of Mechanicsville, VA picked up his first Truckin Thunder Sportsman win in 2 years and James Givens of Henrico, VA claimed the checkers in Collision One Limited Stocks. In Aaron’s Pro Late Model qualifying Jared Powell of Charlottesville, VA set a new division track record with a lap of 18.332 seconds. Billy Tucker and Buck Roadcap led the field to green of the 30 lap Victory Lap Late Model feature. Roadcap and Tucker leaned on each other out of turn 2 allowing David Williams become the third member of a three wide battle for the lead with Roadcap gaining the top spot out of turn 4. Caution would quickly come out when David Steele hit the turn 3 wall. On the restart Williams got under Tucker for second as Justin Williams scraped the wall damaging his spoiler. The caution would come out two laps later when Williams scraped the wall again in turn 3 damaging the spoiler even more sending him to pit road for repairs. On the restart David Williams worked inside Tucker and finally grab the spot out of turn 4 to take second. Once in second he began to pressure Roadcap for the lead. Each time the leader was up to the challenge holding on to the lead and going on to capture his first late model victory at Virginia Motor Speedway. Rounding out the top five were David Williams, Joe Ender, Billy Tucker and Billy Hubbard. Davis Lipscombe and Bobby Thompson led the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division to the green flag with Thompson claiming the top spot out of turn 2. Once out front Thompson began to pull away from the field with Lipscombe in tow. Behind them the battle for third heated up between Mark Parks and Tyler Bare as the two raced side by side for 10 laps, trading the position between them almost every lap. Bare would finally secure the spot with a slide job in turn 2 on lap 22. Thompson would get into a lapped car coming to the white flag but would gather it back up to go on to the win. Rounding out the top five were Davis Lipscombe, Tyler Bare, Mark Parks and Jared Powell. In the Budweiser Modified 25 lap feature Brent Bordeaux and Hunter McClendon led the field to green with McClendon taking the lead out of turn 2. A caution came out on the next circuit after Charlie Hubbard hit the wall out of turn 4 sending him into the side of Mike Reynolds. Both drivers would retire for the night. On the restart eighth starting Matt Quade worked his way to the back of McClendon and dove under him heading into turn 2 taking the lead as they headed into turn 3. Once out front Quade set sail to his third win in a row. Rounding out the top five were Hunter McClendon, Brent Bordeax by inches over Joey Polevoy and BJ Mongold. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman 20 lap feature James Snead and Roger Jamerson led the field to green with Jamerson rocketing to the lead. Jamerson would set sail, pulling away from the field and go on to record his first victory in two years. In the Collision One Limited Stock 20 lap feature Cory Bradley and Chris Champion led the field to green with Champion leading the first circuit. Moving to second James Givens began to pressure Champion for the lead. Several times Givens tried to get inside champion for the lead but to no avail. On Lap 10 Givens finally got under Champion out of turn 2 to take the lead. Once out front Givens set sail and went on to capture the victory.
