JUSTIN WILLIAMS SCORES BIGGEST WIN OF CAREER WITH $5000 FASTRAK WORLD CHALLENGE VICTORY at VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Jamaica, VA – 2017 Virginia Motor Speedway Pro Late Model Champion Justin Williams of Concord, VA used a little home cooking to take home the $5000 FASTRAK World Challenge victory at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway on night one of the FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment weekend. Williams powered to the outside of Walker Arthur on lap 15 of the 40 lap affair and then held off Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA for the victory. “Getting this win is pretty awesome, I have to thank Tyler Bare for running me clean right there at the end, he probably had the faster car, I was slowing him up there in three and four. Like I said this is pretty awesome it is the biggest money race I have ever won,” commented Williams in WhosYourDriver.org Victory Lane. Rounding out the top five were Bare, Walker Arthur of Forest, VA, Henry Hornsby of Bradley, WV and Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, VA. It took a couple starts to get the FASTRAK World Challenge feature underway. When the field finally got to racing it was Walker Arthur by inches at the line over David Smith. The two ran side-by-side for the next lap until Arthur took control. Arthur would pace the field with Justin Williams following in second. On lap 14 Arthur and Williams began working heavy traffic. The following circuit Williams slide under Arthur in turn 1 with lapped traffic all around them and took over the top spot officially on lap 16. With Williams in control the best race on the track was for second with Arthur, Stephen Childress and Tyler Bare. Arthur and Childress battled side-by-side with Bare just behind in third. On alp 18 Childress took second from Arthur. For the next 14 laps Arthur looked high and low around Childress to no avail. Several times Childress squeezed him up into the wall as the two jostled for second. On lap 33 coming to the line Childress and Arthur touched sending Childress spinning into the inside wall in turn 1. On the final restart Bare got inside Arthur in turn 1 for second and made a last lap dash to get inside Williams for the lead heading to the white flag.
