Speedway to host the 35th Annual TireX USA 100 This Saturday May 17th

Jamaica, VA – The excitement level is building as officials of Virginia Motor Speedway get ready to host the 35th Annual TireX USA 100 this Saturday May 17th. The event will once again be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series and will pay the winner of the 50 lap feature a cool $10,000. The list of previous Champions for this race is a list of “Who’s Who” in dirt late model racing. Fans can expect to see the best drivers on the East Coast competing for the top prize. Two-time and defending Ultimate Series Champion Casey Roberts, current point leader Dennis Franklin, Jeff Smith and the rest of the tour regulars will have their hands full with regional stars like Steve Shaver, Chris Ferguson, Ricky Elliott and Jamie Lathroum. The race will once again feature the “Fan Friendly” format of two twenty-five lap qualifying races to make it into the fifty-lap “A” main. Competitor gates for Saturday May 17th will open at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30 pm with hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday May 17th: ULTIMATE Super Late Models (50 Lap Feature); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (25 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (25 Laps) and Collision One Limited Stock Cars (20 Laps). ULTIMATE Super Late Models will run qualifying; two 25 lap qualifying races and Feature. All track divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features. Adult tickets are just $20; seniors (60+) $18; military $15; students 11 – 17 years old $10; and children 10 and under free. Pit passes will be $30. All tickets will be sold day of event. 16” coolers are welcomed but no glass is allowed. There is plenty of free lit parking and camping (no hookups) is allowed at no charge on a first come first served basis. Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA.
