Arthur Holds Off Franklin for $15,000 FASTRAK World Championship Victory to Become Twelfth Different Winner Of Event

Jamaica, VA – The last six laps of the 12th Annual FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment was worth the price of admission alone. Home town favorite Walker Arthur of Forest, VA held off 2013 World Champion and Super Late Model standout Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, SC for the $15,000 victory and the title of World Champion. Arthur became the twelfth different winner of the event in its twelve year history. The win was a career best effort for Arthur. “I hated to cut Rambo off; on that last restart I heard him digging down there so I had to steal that line or he was going to beat me coming to the white flag. I hated to do it but I believe he would have done it to me; I’m not sure but I think he would have,” commented and excited and laughing Arthur in victory lane. Rounding out the top five were Franklin, Matt Long, 2014 Champion Tim Dohm and Dillon Brown. Walker Arthur and Mark Parks led the 24 car field to green with Parks take the lead out of turn 4. Ove the next four laps Arthur tried high and low to get by Parks, each time Parks slammed the door to hold on to the lead. On Lap five the battle for second went three wide in turns 1 and 2 with Arthur rocketing around to the outside of Parks and Kenny Compton, Jr to briefly take the lead. As the two drove into turn 4 Compton slid under Arthur to grab the lead at the line. On lap 11 the races first caution flew for a slowing Jensen Ford in turn 2. On the double file restart Arthur swept out of turn 2 with the lead and began to pull away. On lap 21 Dennis Franklin got by Compton for second and caught Arthur in traffic just as caution flew for Daniel Baggerly with a mechanical failure in turn 2. The car making a move to the front and maybe the fastest car on the track other than Arthur was Matt Long who had worked his way to third from a eighth starting position. By lap 40 Arthur had worked his lead out to a 4-car length advantage over Franklin and Long. Behind them Tim Dohm and Tyler Bare battled for fourth. With ten to go Arthur held a six car-length advantage over Franklin. With the laps winding down Franklin worked every groove on the track to try and close on the leader. On lap 51 Arthur began to run into slower traffic allowing Franklin and Long to close on his bumper. On lap 54, caution would fly first for a spin by night one winner Corey Gordon in turn 4 and then on the restart it flew one more time when Rick Williams had an engine expire on the front stretch. On the races final restart Franklin jumped to the inside of Arthur heading into three. The two raced side by side back to the line for the next four laps with Arthur holding the lead by inches. With the crowd at its feet Arthur and Franklin dove back into turn three door to door. Heading into turn 4 Arthur cut off Franklin’s line coming out of turn 4 to the white. The move was just enough to keep Franklin on his rear quarter panel and go on to take the win by ,484 seconds. Rounding out the top ten were Franklin, Matt Long, 2014 Champion Tim Dohm, Dillon Brown, Tyler Bare, Ron Parker, Mark Parks, TJ Salango and Ryan Montgomery. Heat race winners were Walker Arthur, Mark Parks, Dennis Franklin and Kenny Compton Jr. B-Main winners were Aaron Barley and Corey Gordon. In the 1st Annual Virginia State Quarterback Challenge Cheyton Pine of Lafayette High School won his school a $1000 scholarship with a throw of 164’-5”. Randy Weaver Crowned Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth; Walker Arthur Wins $3000 FASTRAK National Tour Event

Randy Weaver Crowned Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth; Walker Arthur Wins $3000 FASTRAK National Tour Event

Jamaica, Virginia (April 11, 2015) – Coming into the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series sanctioned Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth at Virginia Motor Speedway the name being talked about more than any other was the white-hot Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tennessee. After all, the 45 year old driver was off to his best season start of his career having won each of the 4 events he had entered thus far. So most of the dirt late model world was wondering if Weaver could keep his winning streak alive at a facility he had never even seen before. And what was Weaver’s answer? A resounding yes in the form of a dominating win that saw him set overall fast time, win his heat race and lead every lap of the sixty lap feature to garner the biggest payday of his career. “The good Lord is being real good to me right now and I don’t know why. I owe everything to Him. But man what a race car and crew. I’m tellin’ ya anybody in them grandstands can drive this thing. It about drives itself. And Josh and Grant and my owners Chip and Rusty Stone are here this weekend. This awesome Cornett power. This Longhorn Chassis, everywhere we go…I mean I have never seen this place, I have just heard great things about it, and I can’t believe that my name is in history down here now.” said a very jubilant Weaver in his victory lane interview. Weaver picks up his second ULTIMATE Super Late Model victory of the season which is his richest to date. “What an incredible facility here. This is just an awesome place. For promoters to take a chance like this in our sport…we really appreciate facilities like Virginia Motor Speedway.” In other action Walker Arthur of Forest, VA dominated on way to a $3000 victory during the 40 lap FASTRAK National Tour event. It was the inaugural race for the new FASTRAK National Tour. At the drop of the green flag for the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth Weaver surged to the lead. And while out front Weaver’s progress was only slowed as he encountered lapped traffic it was a very different story behind him. Davenport and Zeigler waged a battle for the runner-up spot from the outset. Davenport was able to slip into 2nd on the opening lap. However on the 4th circuit Zeigler was able to use his outside line to grab 2nd while Bloomquist and Chris Madden gave chase from the 4th and 5th positions. Davenport continued to stalk Zeigler and when Bloomquist jumped into the mix, Davenport turned up the wick. Bloomquist rolled by Davenport down the back straightaway but Davenport would have no part of it. He drove his Longhorn machine to the high side of turns 3 and 4 moving back by Bloomquist and setting up Zeigler for the slider through turns one and two to retake the 2nd position. Up front Weaver was cruising but beginning to encounter back marker traffic. Weaver was able to negotiate the lap machines with relative ease as he was able to move his race car all over the track when he needed to. However Weaver’s only real scare of the event came as he was attempting to put Ricky Elliott down a lap. Weaver entered turn 3 hard in order to slide by the high running Elliott. Weaver’s machine began to hop wildly as he slid up the track. No harm, no foul for Weaver however as the yellow waved for the final time of the night when Earl Pearson, Jr. stopped on the track. Weaver was able to continue with no issues after the scare. “I thought I had knocked the tires off it there. I heard them call for the caution and I was checking up as it was sliding to the outside. I shook it back and forth and made sure everything was still under me.” Weaver added. Under him it was as he powered away on the final restart and held on to win the $20,000 winner’s purse. Davenport settled for 2nd and Bloomquist finished in the 3rd position. In addition to the nice payday, event title-sponsor Aaron’s Inc. presented Weaver with a new 49” LG 4K Ultra HD Television as a part of the Aaron’s “Best Seat in the House” Promotion. The win was Weaver’s 5th in a row for 2015 and brought his 2015 winnings to over $45,000. To say the first ever FASTRAK National Tour event was a success would be an understatement as 37 of the East Coast’s top Pro Late Model ushered in a new era in FASTRAK racing. Local favorite and former track champion Walker Arthur of Forest, VA etched his name into the record books by winning the first event FASTRAK National Tour event in dominating fashion. The first ever National Tour race was a companion event for the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth sanctioned by its sister series the Ultimate Super Late Model tour. “We’ve turned a lot of laps around this place but this has to be one of the biggest wins I have ever had here at VMS. The car has been so good all year and it ran just flawless tonight; event though we didn’t do as well as we want in the Super Late model tonight, we are super excited about winning the first ever FASTRAK National Tour event here at our home track,” commented Arthur in victory lane. At the drop of the green flag Arthur rocketed to the lead from his pole position as David Smith, Jimmy Schiltz, Daniel Baggerly and Mark Parks went four wide to decide second. With the action behind him Arthur pulled away to a comfortable lead. By lap 11 Arthur began working lapped traffic while the battle for second continued between Smith, Parks and Schiltz. At the halfway point Arthur maintained almost a full straight lead over the field while masterfully working lapped traffic. With plenty of two, three and even four wide racing behind him Arthur continued to stretch out the lead. On lap 20 Kennie Compton Jr. joined the battle for second picking off drivers one by one until he finally claimed the spot from Smith on lap 30. With 10 laps remaining Compton tried to reel in the leader but Arthur was too strong going on to take the $3000 victory with Compton, Smith, Parks and Schiltz, Matt Long, 2014 FASTRAK World Champion Tim Dohm, Dillon Brown, Daniel Baggerly and Jared Powell rounding out the top ten. In addition to Arthur’s $3000 payday, event title-sponsor Aaron’s Inc. presented Arthur with a new 49” LG 4K Ultra HD Television as a part of the Aaron’s “Best Seat in the House” Promotion. The Fast Time Award went to Dillon Brown with a time of 18.563 seconds. Heat race wins went to Walker Arthur, David Smith, Daniel Baggerly and Jimmy Schiltz. B-Main wins went to Jimmy Duncan and Colby Cannon. Opening Night wins go to J. Williams, Arthur, Quade, Shelton and Torbox

Jamaica, VA – What looked to be a cold and rainy day turned out to be a great night for racing at Virginia Motor Speedway for WRAR / WNNT Night and the opening night of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action. Taking home wins were Justin Williams (Victory Lap Late Models), Walker Arthur (Aaron’s Pro Late Models), Matt Quade (Budweiser Modifieds), Hunter Shelton (Truckin Thunder Sportsman) and Andrew Torbox (Collision One Limited Stock Cars). In the Victory Lap Late Model 35 lap feature Billy Hubbard and Anthony Kincaid led the field to green with Hubbard taking the top spot on the drop of the green flag. Hubbard would go unchallenged until lap 9 when defending champion Justin Williams would begin to work on Hubbard for the lead. The two raced side by side for the next two laps before Williams took over the top spot. On the next circuit Williams would get into a lapped car and the ensuing spin collected both Hubbard and Walker Arthur sending both to the infield. On the restart Troy Williams would rocket away from the field and looked like his was on his way to the win that is until Justin Williams began his charge back to the front. With the laps winding down Justin Williams would get up on the cushion and reel in the leader. On lap 28 Troy Williams made a slight mistake in turn 2 allowing Justin Williams to get to his inside and take over the top spot. Once out front Justin Williams would go on to take the win followed by Troy Williams, John Staton, Anthony Kincaid and Petie Coffey rounding out the top five. In the first ever race for the Aaron’s Pro Late Models Neal Hudgins and Paul McGinley led the field to green with the field getting three wide right out the gate. Caution would come out necessitating a complete restart. On the restart McGinley would get a better start and grab the lead out of turn 2. On lap 3 Walker Arthur rocketed to the inside of McGinley to take over the top spot. Arthur would work out to a sizeable lead while Daniel Baggerly worked his way to second. Once in the runner-up spot Baggerly set out to catch Arthur. Baggerly would pull to within a couple of car lengths but that was a close as he could get as Arthur would go on to collect the checkers with Baggerly, McGinley, Davis Lipscombe and Hudgins rounding out the top five. The Budweiser Modified 25 lap feature may have been the most exciting race of the night as Matt Marshall, Jimmy Duncan and Matt Quade battled door to door for much of the feature. Joey Polevoy and Marshall led the field to green with Marshall jumping out to the lead. For the first 12 laps Duncan shadowed Marshall until he could finally get to his inside on lap 10. On lap 12 he finally took the lead but only by inches over Marshall. Marshall would take the lead back on the next circuit and would race door to door with Duncan over the top spot on lap 18. Not to be outdone Matt Quade made his way past Marshall and set out to catch Duncan. On 22 Quade got inside Duncan as the two exited turn 2. They raced side by side for the next two laps until Duncan bobbled in turn 2 on the final lap allowing Qaude to go on to the win followed by Duncan, Joey Polevoy, Matt Marshall and Rayn Toole rounding out the top five. In the caution filled Truckin Thunder Sportsman 25 lap feature Hunter Shelton used an inside move on then leader Davey Pullen to take over the lead. The multiple cautions were the only thing that allowed the rest of the field to get close to Shelton and he dominated the event for the win. Rookie Jeremiah Marshall, Brett Adkins, Macy Causey and James Bunn rounded out the top five. In the Collision One Limited Stock 20 lap feature defending champion Brandon Sandridge used a three wide pass in traffic to take the lead and go on to a sizeable lead. But on the white flag Sandridge would blow a right rear tire going down the backstretch. Sandridge tried to stay out front but as the field came to the checkered flag rookie Andrew Torbox was able to sneak by for his career victory. Brian Bradley, Brandon Sandridge, James Givens with a flat left front and Ben Lowry rounded out the top five.
