Jamaica, VA – Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway are proud to announce that TireX, Inc has signed on to be the “Title Sponsor” of the 1st Annual Pit Crew Challenge presented by Virginia Army National Guard during the Saturday October 4th festivities for the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship and Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm has signed on to be “Title Sponsor” of the Pit Crew Cook-off on Thursday night October 2nd. On Thursday night October 2nd after open practice the track will host the very popular Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm “Pit Crew Cook Off”. This gives the crews a chance to be the stars for a change. The driver will serve the food his crew grills that evening to the Official taste testers (yet to be named). The winning crew will take home $250. Last year a crew from out of the North won the cook-off. On Saturday October 4th during pre-race festivities the Tire-X Pit Crew Challenge will be a tire changing event first for the crews (fastest crew member getting $250), and then for the fans (fastest fan getting $250). Jamaica, VA – The excitement level is at an all time high as Virginia Motor Speedway gets ready to host the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championships this Thursday through Saturday October 2-4th. This is the best of the best in Pro Late Model racing. Teams from Indiana, New York, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting race of their career. The event will also feature a $1000 to win “winner take all” King of the Hill race on Friday, a $1500 to win non-qualifiers race and a $2000 to win modified event on Saturday. The three-day event will also offer up plenty of fan interaction with the BB&T Autograph session on Saturday October 4thas well as the 1st Annual Pit Crew Challenge. The new and exciting event for the crews versus the fans will pay the fastest crew member $250 and the fastest fan $250 and then pit them against each other to see who takes home the big trophy. Thursday October 2nd will see FREE admission for everyone in the grandstands. Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 6pm. Practice will start at 8pm and run until 10pm.
