Jamaica, VA – After two weeks off due to a rainout and Father’s Day weekend, respectively, Virginia Motor Speedway will return to racing this Saturday, June 26thand host Truckin Thunder Night and week 6 of the Dirt Series Championship weekly racing season. The night will feature all four of the speedway’s Dirt Series Championship weekly divisions in action. See the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in some exciting side-by-side racing! The question remains going into week 5: Can Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA (Truckin Thunder Sportsman) and Brian Maxey of King George, VA (Collision One Limited Stocks) make it four wins in a row in their respective divisions? Both came from eighth place to grab wins in week 4 and will have to do so again to keep the streak alive. Whatever the outcome, you need to be here in person to see some of the country’s best racing. Competitor gates for Saturday, June 26th will open at 3 pm, and spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On-track activities will begin at 6:30 pm for hot laps. Justin Williams Scores the Win in Pro Late Models; Lipscombe and Maxey Continue winning Ways, and Butler Scores Emotional first win of 2021

Jamaica, VA – Justin Williams of Concord, VA, returned to his winning ways picking up the Victory Lap Pro Late Model victory after a spirited battle with Nick Love of Hughesville, MD. Williams would grab the lead on lap 20 and go on to his second win of 2021. “I love it when this track gets slicked over like it did tonight; we tried a couple of new things to the car, and they allowed the car to go anywhere on the track,” commented Williams in WhosYourDriver.org victory lane. Williams started fifth in the thirty-lap feature, working his way to the front methodically. By lap 6, Williams was in second and closing on Love. On lap 18, Williams had closed within 2-car lengths, and on the following lap, made his move for the top spot. Williams would try the outside of Love in turn 2 only Love to hold the spot, but as the two raced into turn 3, Williams shot to Love’s inside and grab the lead at the line. Once out front, Williams pulled away as Love, Matt Quade, and fast qualifier Jeremy Pilkerton battled over the second spot. Rounding out the top five were Matt Quade, Nick Love, Jeremy Pilkerton, and Joey Love. In other action, Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA, collected his third Truckin Thunder Sportsman win of the season. Lipscombe grab the lead from Matt Meads on lap 7 and held off a couple of challenges from Kacey Gordon to score the victory. Rounding out the top five were Tyler Shipp, Matt Ashworth, Matt Meads, and Michael Hayes. In the Budweiser Modified feature, Chase Butler of Mechanicsville, VA, scored an emotional win by holding off both Josh Harris and Lance Grady for the win. Butler was racing with a heavy heart with the passing of his engine builder Mark Batten the night before. Butler would grab the lead from Grady on lap 4 but would have to hold off several challenges by Grady and Harris over the closing laps to score his first win of 2021. Rounding out the top five were Josh Harris, Lance Grady, Brandon Galloway, and Brent Bordeaux. And in the Collision One Limited Stock Car feature, Brian Maxey of King George, VA took the lead from James Givens on lap 7 and scored his third win in a row in a caution-filled feature. It will mark the 52nd season of action at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA. “To say we are excited about getting back to racing would be an understatement. The schedule includes eleven (11) nights of weekly racing action, the return of 410 sprint cars with the April 15th Thursday Night Thunder featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions and Tony Stewart, two Ultimate Super Late Model sanctioned events – the May 15th $20,000 to win Virginia is for Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth and the August 7th $20,000 to win 45th Annual Ernie Shelton’s USA 100; the August 21st $3000 to win Prelude to the World Championship for FASTRAK Pro Late Models, the return of the FASTRAK World Championship weekend paying $25,000 to win, and two mud bogs at the facilities state-of-the-art 200 mud bog pit. Jamaica, VA – After a year where the COVID-19 pandemic canceled racing activities for Virginia Motor Speedway, officials are excited to release the dates for the speedway’s 2021 marquee events. Fans are sure to want to mark their calendars for what will be another stellar year for special events at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA. The season’s first marquee event will be held Thursday, April 15th, with the return of 410 sprint cars for a $15,000 to win, $1500 to start event. Thursday Night Thunder will once again feature the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series in action. The UMP Modified division will also be the support class for this must-see event. On Saturday, May 15th, the always exciting Ultimate Super Late Model Series will return for the $20,000 to win Virginia is for Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth and a $3000 to win FASTRAK National event for Pro Late Models. August 7th, the Ultimate Super Late Model Series stars and cars will return for Ernie Shelton’s 45th Annual USA 100 and pay $20,000 to win. There will also be a $3000 to win FASTRAK National event for Pro Late Models. The FASTRAK Touring Series competitors will get one more chance to get dialed in for the $25,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship on Saturday, August 21st, with the $3000 to win Prelude to the World Championship.
