Jamaica, VA – The time is finally here! As Virginia Motor Speedway swings open the gates to the 2013 season this Saturday night April 13th to host Saftey-Kleen, WRAR, WNNT Night a the races. The anticipation for the first race of the season has been escalating over the last several weeks and fans and competitors alike are excited to get the speedway’s 44th season underway. The 44th Annual season opening event will take place on Saturday evening April 13th featuring a full program of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action that will include the Victory Lap Late Model / Fastrak Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock divisions. Competitor gates for Saturday, April 13th will open at 12noon with spectator gates opening at 4pm. On track activities will begin at 4pm with hot laps. There will be a mandatory drivers meeting at 3:45pm. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday: Victory Lap Late Models / Pro Late Models (35 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (25 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (25 laps) and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars (20 laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features. Admission price for Adults $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 13 – 17 years old $6, children 7 to 12 $4 and children 6 and under admitted free. We offer a family pass for $25 (two adults and two children 12 and under). Pit passes will be $20. To enhance the fans racing experience the speedway has installed a short wave FM transmitter and all of the evening’s action can be heard at 95.5 FM. Jamaica, VA — Virginia Motor Speedway will take part in two car shows on Saturday April 6th to help promote the start of the 2013 season. One will be in Richmond, VA the other in Fredericksburg, VA. Jamaica, VA — With the April 13th season opener just 30 days away anticipation for the first race of the season is escalating and registrations have started to pour in from all five divisions. Officials are busy getting the track and grounds ready for what should be a tremendous 2013 season. With the addition of the Pro (Crate) Late Model division speedway officials are expecting to see some new faces competing for the tracks coveted championships. “We are really excited to get the 2013 season under way as we put all our focus on our weekly competitors and our dedicated local fans’” commented Track General Manger Clarke Sawyer. For 2013 the speedway will feature the Victory Lap Late Model, Fastrak Pro (Crate) Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock divisions. Champions will be crowned in each division and each driver will also compete for an overall track title in the Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series. Speedway Releases 2013 Schedule; Focus on Weekly Racing

Jamaica, VA – The tentative 2013 schedule for Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway has been released and includes 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action. The focus for the 2013 racing season will be on weekly racing and continuing to grow our local fan and competitor base. During the 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action the speedway will feature six nights of the very popular twin race format that was utilized during the last part of the 2012 season. Fans and competitors alike were thrilled with the format and have asked to see more of it in 2013. The track’s always competitive weekly divisions begin their race for the division Championships and the Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series Championship on Saturday April 13th and end with the final point’s race of the season on Saturday September 14th. This year’s division line-up will once again include the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars. One special event tentatively on the 2013 schedule is the return of the Ultimate Super Late Model Series on Saturday May 18th. Details of that event will be released soon. Along with the weekly racing action the speedway will also host two mud bogs at its state of the art mud bog facility. On Saturday June 15th The Pit at VMS will host the 4th Annual Mud Mayhem and on Saturday October 5th the 9th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River / Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard. Adams, Doggett, Duncan and Maxey crowned 2012 Champions; Duncan crowned VA Army National Guard Dirt Series Champion

Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway wrapped up the 2012 season by recognizing the top ten in each of the track’s divisions with special attention reserved for the 2012 champions. During the night’s events almost $34,000 in cash and prizes were awarded, of that almost $28,000 was in cash. This year’s championships saw two familiar faces and two drivers picking up career first championships. Scott Adams of Chester, VA was crowned the Victory Lap Late Model Champion for the third consecutive year and received a check for $5,000 for his efforts. Adams also received a $500 certificate from the Joie of Seating, a custom calendar from Al Goulder Photography and his Championship helmet trophy and jacket. MUD BOG HUGE SUCCESS

Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosted the 8th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, Mud Sling and Truck Show presented by James River / Rappahannock Tractor, Virginia Army National Guard and in part by Davis Off Road, Monster Energy Drink, After Hours Fabrication, Truckin Thunder and ORI of Richmond this past Saturday October 6th breaking records in both competitor participation and fans in attendance. The cool temperatures and partly sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging. Overall 137 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 271 total passes. Adding to the excitement Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and Maxey Broadus in Walking Tall put on a fantastic freestyle monster truck show for the fans with some high flying maneuvers. The “Master of Disaster” himself Dennis Anderson brought out his newest creation King Sling and thrilled the crowd with a performance that only Dennis Anderson could pull off. Fan Promotion Huge Success with Help of Virginia Motor Speedway Drivers

Jamaica, VA – For two weeks prior to the Saturday August 18th historic Scout Night at the Virginia Motor Speedway, competitors at the high-speed half-mile clay oval handed out free passes to their family members, friends and co-workers to invite them out to watch them race. What followed was a record setting weekly audience for the facility. An estimated crowd of nearly 4,000 people packed the facility for a picture-perfect night of racing which included a twin race format that excited all those in attendance. “This was a really successful promotion that we hope will lead to larger crowds at all of our future events. We have been inundated with emails and phone calls from first time visitors that really enjoyed themselves and we want to thank everyone that participated in the promotion,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. After sorting and counting nearly 2,200 free passes, Virginia Motor Speedway officials are pleased to announce the top recruits and winners of some fantastic awards. The Victory Lap Late Model division produced the top two recruiters with Joe Ender of Glen Allen, VA topping all drivers with 274 fans filtering through the gates with a free pass embellished with his name and car number. The Victory Lap Late Model leading rookie will receive a set of tires courtesy of Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA finished a close second with 255 passes returned and will receive twenty gallons of Sunoco Racing Fuel courtesy of Hank Thomas Performance.
