Jamaica, VA – To say that officials of The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway are anxiously awaiting the running of the 13th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, Commonwealth Motorsports and Essex Concrete would be an understatement. Additional sponsorship for the Run-A-Muck Mud Bog is provided by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One, Gary’s Transmission and Truckin Thunder. There will be eleven classes of “Mud Maniacs” in action ranging from super stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes. Not only will fans get to see hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit but they will also get the opportunity to see some of the regions best Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in under three seconds. The event will also include a car crushing monster truck freestyle show by Steve Sims in Stone Crusher and a yet to be named truck and driver. Gates and registration will open at 9am with single eliminations for Super Stock A, B; Modified A (Small tire), B (Big Tire), Unlimited Bog, Unlimited X Tractor, Pro Modified A, Pro Modified B and X, XX classes beginning at 12 noon. Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will once again host two spectacular mud bogs in 2016, the 9th Annual Down and Dirty Mud Mayhem on Saturday May 21st and the 12th Annual Down and Dirt Run-A-Muck Mud Bog on Saturday October 8th. Both events will be presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motor Sports. The 9th Annual Mud Mayhem gets a new date for 2016 – Saturday May 21st. With the area’s graduations scheduled for the middle of June it was determined that the event needed to be moved to accommodate fans, competitors and sponsors. The 12th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud bog will continue on it’s familiar second Saturday of October with this year being October 8th. An October 15th rain date has been established for the event. Jamaica, VA – A hot and humid afternoon led to some great mud bogging at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway. The 8th Annual Down & Dirty Mud Mayhem presented by James River Equipment saw four division records broken during the days competition. The event was also sponsored by Aaron’s, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Kalbone’s Speed & Off Road, After Hours Fabrication, Collision One and Truckin Thunder. The great crowd was treated to some incredible runs in both the mud bog and mud sling pits. The day of setting new records also spilled over to the competitors, as several division records were broken during competition. In all four division track records were broken. Heading into the competition E&E Caulking sponsored the Tapole’s Break the Record Challenge which paid out an additional $100 bonus to break a record. In the Aaron’s Pro Mod B division Kenny Crowder in Mr. Nasty Time set a new record with a run of 4.211 seconds that ended in a spectacular crash at the end. Crowder would emerge unhurt. In the Down and Dirty Unlimited Bog division The Pit’s “Fastest Woman” proved again she is fast with a record setting 3.802 second run. The James River Equipment X Cut and Victory Lap XX Paddle dragster divisions were dominated by New York’s Kelly Odell as he set the fastest pass ever in the history of The Pit with a 1.987 second run in the XX Paddle’s. He also broke the X Cut record with a run of 2.267 seconds. Overall 68 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 156 registered passes. Winners in each class: Super Stock A – Neil McClanan in Never Enough; Super Stock B – Kyle Slaughter in Step-A-Side; Modified A and B – Tonya Ricks in Dancin With the Devil; Pro Mod A – Spence Messick Jr. in Mud Runner; Pro Mod B – Kenny Crowder in Mr. Nasty Time; Unlimited Bog – Tonya Ricks in Dacin With the Devil; X Class & XX Class – Kelly Odell in Under Pressure. The Atkins Petroleum & Propane “King of the Hill” Double Down Bonus was offered again to anyone that could win both the A & B classes in the Super Stock, Modified or Pro Mod divisions. Tonya Ricks in Dancin with the Devil was able to take home the $500 bonus by winning both classes in the Modified division. Tonya Ricks also picked up a $100 bonus from Guthrie and Sons Heating & Cooling by having the fastest time in After Hours Fabrication Mod A competition. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to dampen the spirits of those in attendance with cold and rainy weather for 10th Annual Down & Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, the Virginia National Guard and RedNex Sporting at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway, but everyone in attendance was treated to one of the best shows in the ten year history of the facility. The event was also sponsored by Monster Energy Drinks, Kalbones Speed Shop & Offroad, Aaron’s, Collision One, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, After Hours Fabrication, ORI of Richmond and Truckin Thunder. The great crowd was treated to some great action in both the mud bog and mud sling pits as Ray Atkins of King William, VA in Haulin Gas set a new division track record in the Monster Energy Pro Mod B class with a 4.246 second pass and Chris Newton of Chesapeake, VA in Hostile Projectile set a new division track record in the Virginia Army National Guard XX-Paddle class with a pass of 2.263 seconds, breaking his own record that had stood since 2011. 92 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 218 registered passes. RUNNING ORDER FOR SATURDAY’S 10TH ANNUAL DOWN AND DIRTY RUN-A-MUCK MUD BOG

Jamaica, VA — Officials for The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway have released the running order for the 10th Annual Down and Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by James River Equipment, RedNex Sporting Goods and the Virginia Army National Guard. Since the June 21st 5th Annual Mud Mayhem Mud Bog the facility has had a major face lift. The facility will now feature two mud bog pits and a sling pit. All pits are still 200 feet long. There will now be a cable pit (Pit 1) that will have the Super Stock and Modified classes running in and a new non-cable pit (Pit 2) that will feature the Pro Mod and Unlimited Bog divisions. As always the sling pit will feature the X-Cut and X-Paddle dragster divisions. Pit 1 will start t 12 noon with the Suepr Stock A Class followed by the Mod A, Super Stock B and then the Mod B classes. Pit 2 will get started at about 1:30pm with the Pro Mod A (Small tire) class. The two pits will run simultaneously from 1:30pm on. One lane will go then the next and so on. This will allow for little downtime and keep our fans excited all day long!
