Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature did her best to put a damper on the 14th annual Mud Mayhem presented by Breezeline and WhosYourDriver.org, but the fans and competitors showed out despite the rain and mud at The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway. The event saw the largest truck count of Mega Trucks in the facility’s history, with sixty-four total trucks showing up for race number three for the Premier Mega Truck Racing Series, forty-one Pro Mega Trucks, and 23 1-Ton Super Trucks. The event was also sponsored by J.D.S. Enterprises, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers, Gary’s Transmission, and Truckin Thunder. Winners in each class: Super Stock – Michael Sutphin in Stacked Deck; Pro Stock – Beau Barricks in Bone Crusher; Modified – Beau Barricks in Bone Crusher; Pro Mod – Trey Moody in That P.O.S.; Pro Mega Truck – Shayne Tucker in Wasted; 1-Ton Super Truck – Hugh Williams in Mudcat.  The Speedway will take Memorial Day Weekend off and return to racing on Saturday, June 1st, to host the 3rd annual Mark Batten Memorial featuring twin $10,000 to win events for the Steel Block Bandits Limited Late Model and Modified Mafia Series. The Mid-Atlantic’s top Limited Late Model and UMP Modified competitors will be on hand for this huge event. Spectator gates open at 5 pm with on-track action beginning at 6 pm with hot laps. Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature tried to put a damper on the last event of 2023 at Virginia Motor Speedway. Still, Mud Bog competitors and fans showed out in big numbers for the 16th annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog, presented by Breezeline and WhosYourDriver.org. The event was also sponsored by Northern Neck Chevrolet, Atkins Petroleum & Propane, Gary’s Transmission, After Hours Fabrication, Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers, Truckin Thunder, and Virginia is for Racing Lovers (VA Tourism). The enthusiastic crowd witnessed some incredible runs in the head-to-head Premier Mega Truck Racing Series mega trucks and the mud bog hill-n-hole pit. In one of the best events in history at the state-of-the-art facility, two division track records were broken in spectacular fashion. In the After Hours Fabrication Pro Mod division, the track record was broken three times at one event, all besting the old track record of 3.844 seconds held by Michael Sutphin in O.G. Highroller. First, Sutphin in O.G. High Roller lowered his own record with a pass of 3.819 seconds. Next, Donnie Miller in Black Truck broke the record with a pass of 3.789 seconds, and finally, Chris Bradshaw in Fast Money broke the record with a highlight reel pass of 3.683 seconds. There will be eight “Mud Maniacs” classes competing, ranging from super stock to Mega Truck, with cash payouts in all eight divisions.
