Jamaica, VA – After suffering its second rainout of the season Virginia Motor Speedway will return to racing this Saturday June 9th and host the rescheduled Gloucester S.T.A.R Kids Night at the Races. The night will feature all four of the speedway’s Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly divisions in action. See the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in some exciting side by side racing! S.T.A.R. Kids Night at the Races is always a special one for the speedway as the children from the Gloucester S.T.A.R. program visit for a night of dirt track racing. The S.T.A.R. program provides athletics, games and social time to children with special needs. Jamaica, VA – Speedway management has made the decision to cancel racing activities for Saturday June 2nd due to the unfavorable forecast that includes heavy thunderstorms and a Flash Flood Warning until early Sunday Morning. This is the second rainout of the 2018 season. The speedway will now host Gloucester S.T.A.R. Kids Night and week 6 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season Saturday June 9th. The night will feature the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. “We are extremely disappointed in losing another race to weather, but the safety of our fans, competitors and staff is our utmost concern and would not want to take a chance of putting them or their families in any kind of danger”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Sawyer added, “S.T.A.R. 2018 DRIVER REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Jamaica, VA – Speedway officials have announced that 2018 driver registration is now open for all Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly divisions. Competitors are encouraged to get their registration in before the opening weekend. Registration is once again $100 for the year OR $25 per race. Number choice for the top twenty (20) in 2017 points is secured until February 28, 2018, at that time all numbers will be first come, first served. Competitors can print off the 2018 forms and mail them in with a check or provide credit card info at the bottom of the registration form. There is a $3 convenience fee when using a credit card. There are three forms that MUST be filled out for registration. Please have them all filled out and returned. Jamaica, VA – The speedway will return to racing Saturday August 26, 2017 to host Northern Neck Chevrolet | Collision One Back to School Night and week 12 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship Weekly Racing season featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in action. Saturday August 26th the speedway, along with its sponsors, will be collecting food and donations for FeedMore and the Northern Neck Food Bank. For every five (5) non-perishable food items donated race fans will receive one (1) FREE general admission ticket to the night’s racing. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can get free. The shelves at the local food banks are really bare at this time of year and we encourage everyone to bring as many items as they can to donate. It is the speedway’s fourth rainout of the season. “It is never an easy decision to cancel an event, but with the overnight rains and the track still receiving rain it is evident that we will not be able to get in any racing today”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Williams Scores Fourth Pro Late Model Victory; Polevoy Returns to Victory Lane; Shipp and Bradley Take Career First Wins

Jamaica, VA – It only took point leader Justin Williams of Concord, VA six laps to get to the front from his sixth place starting spot, but once out front Williams set it on cruise to go on and take his fourth Victory Lap Pro Late Model win of the season. “I can’ thank my crew enough for giving me such a good car, I just tried to stay out of trouble there at the beginning until we could get separated,” commented Williams in WhosyourDriver.org victory lane. The start of the 30 lap feature got off to a rocky start with a big pileup on the opening green flag. Once the field finally got underway Camden Testerman took over the top and paced the field for the first five laps before Justin Williams drove around him out of turn 4 to take the lead. Once out front Williams only have to survive a bevy of cautions before collecting his fourth win of the season. Rounding out the top five were Matt Quade, Camden Testerman, Jared Powell and John McClellan. In other action Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA scored his fourth Budweiser Modified win of the season; in Truckin Thunder Sportsman action Tyler Shipp of Mechanicsville, VA scored his career first victory taking and Corey Bradley of Hopewell, VA and James Givens of Henrico, VA put on a show in Collision One Limited Stock Car action with Bradley scoring his career first win. It looked like point leader Tim Shelton would cruise to his fifth Truckin Thunder Sportsman win in a row, but it was rookie Tyler Shipp who would craft a different story as he passed Shelton for the lead on lap 25 of the 30 lap feature to score his career first win. Steve Causey took the lead on the drop of the green and led until lap 6 win Shelton swept around him to take the lead and pull away to a sizeable lead. Shipp would slowing close the gap and on a restart on lap 21 started to apply pressure on Shelton for the lead. On lap 24 Shipp got inside Shelton coming out of two and finally pulled ahead for the lead at the line. Once out front Shipp pulled away to score his career first win. Rounding out the top five were Tim Shelton, Brett Adkins, Joe Weiss and Steve Causey. Starting shotgun on the field, current Budweiser Modified point leader Joey Polevoy made it a mission to get to the front, picking off cars one by one and taking the lead from Lance Grady on lap 12. Once out front Polevoy would have to hold off a couple of late races challenges from Hunter McClendon to take home his sixth win of the season. Rounding out the top five were Hunter McClendon, Francis Jarrelle, Tim Schulte and Mike Reynolds. The Collision One Limited Stock 25 lap feature turned out to be the best race of the night as Corey Bradley and James Givens swapped the lead back and forth four times before Bradley would take hold for the final time. The two raced virtually side by side for the entire 25 lap distance. Bradley would face one final challenge on the final lap as Givens tried to get to his outside out of turn 2, Bradley countered and went on to score his career first win. Rounding out the top five Givens, Marty Coltrain, Chris Champion and Stephanie Johnston.
