Jamaica, VA – After having two rainouts in a row, Virginia Motor Speedway is eager to get back to racing; the speedway will return to racing this Saturday, July 10th, and host week 7 of the Dirt Series Championship weekly racing season. The night will feature all four of the speedway’s Dirt Series Championship weekly divisions in action. See the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in some exciting side-by-side racing! The question remains going into week 7: Can Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA (Truckin Thunder Sportsman) and Brian Maxey of King George, VA (Collision One Limited Stocks) make it four wins in a row in their respective divisions? Both came from eighth place to grab wins in week four and will have to do so again to keep the streak alive. Whatever the outcome, you need to be here in person to see some of the country’s best racing. Competitor gates for Saturday, July 10th will open at 3 pm, and spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On-track activities will begin at 6 pm for hot laps, and features will start at 7:30 pm. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday: Victory Pro Late Models (35 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (30 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (30 laps) and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars (25 laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features. Jamaica, VA – After much discussion and thought, speedway management has decided to cancel racing activities for Saturday, April 24, due to the high probability of rain for the weekend. “We have a lot of competitors and fans who travel an enormous amount of highway miles to attend our events,” said track owner Bill Sawyer. “We don’t want anyone to have the burden of making a long trip for nothing.” The Speedway will return to host the first of two mud bogs for the 2021 season next Saturday, May 1, with the 12th Annual Mud Mayhem presented by Atlantic Broadband, James River Equipment, and WhosYourDriver.org.
