Speedway to host Steel Block Bandits AND Modified Mafia Series for a Pair of $10,000 to win Mark Batten Memorial Features, Saturday, June 1

Jamaica, VA – One of the most anticipated events of the year is just two weeks away as Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 3rd Annual Mark Batten Memorial, Saturday June 1st. The stars and cars of the Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge Series and Modified Mafia Series will invade Virginia Motor Speedway for a pair of $10,000 to-win features. Many of the Mid-Atlantic's top Limited Late Model and Modified drivers are expected to be on hand.

"We are very humbled that the Batten family wanted us to host this memorial event, with $10,000 on the line for both the Steel Block Bandits and Modified Mafia series, we are expecting a huge car count. This will be an event you do not want to miss," commented track owner and President Bill Sawyer.

Competitor gates for Saturday, June 1, will open at 2 pm, with spectator gates opening at 5 pm. On track, activities will begin at 6 pm with hot laps.

Adult tickets are just $30; seniors (60+) $25, military $20; students 13 – 17 years old $15; and children 12 and under free. Pit passes, regardless of age, will be $40. Mark Batten Memorial tickets can be purchased in advance by going to  https://bit.ly/BattenMemorial or at the gate on race day.

16" coolers are welcome, but no glass is allowed. There is plenty of free well-lit parking, and camping (no hookups) is allowed at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½-mile dirt oval track located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA, and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA, in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland, and the Hampton Roads area.
