SPEEDWAY TO RETURN TO RACING THIS SATURDAY AUGUST 8TH; NIGHT TO BENEFIT FEEDMORE / FOOD BANK

Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway returns to racing this coming Saturday August 8th to host Hockey Fights Hunger | Xtra 99.1 Night and week eleven of the 2015 VMS Dirt Series season featuring the Victory Lap Late Model, Aaron’s Pro Late Model, Budweiser Modified, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action.

Officials and team members of the Richmond Generals Hockey team and Jeremy’s Game will be on hand to help collect canned goods for FeedMore. As a thank you for helping fight hunger fans can receive a free general admission ticket for every two (2) non-perishable items donated. FeedMore is Central Virginia's hunger-relief leader made up of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia and the Community Kitchen. Working together to efficiently and effectively fight hunger to enhance lives in our community; FeedMore's programs provide hunger relief to our region’s most vulnerable populations, particularly children, families and seniors.

Competitor gates for Saturday August 8th will open at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps and features are schedule for 8pm.

Admission price for adults $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Bring two (2) non-perishable items and get a FREE general admission ticket. There are no limits on the number of tickets but must donate two items per ticket.

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
