Condolences To Thompson Family with the Passing of Trudy Thompson
Jamaica, VA - The speedway would like to send out out deepest condolences to the J.D. Thompson and his family in the loss of his wife Trudy yesterday. J.D. has worked the end of pit road and been the speedway's pace truck driver for several years. Trudy, 62, of Quinton, Va., passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. She was a published author. Trudy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, J.D. Thompson; daughters, Theresa Briggs (William Briggs Jr.) and Michelle Thompson; three grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle and Dakota. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23231, on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601, or alz.org.
