The Pit at VMS to host first of two mud bogs for 2011 this Saturday June 18th
Jamaica, VA - Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway will take with week off at the round track to host the first of two big Mud Bog events for the 2011 season. Saturday June 18th will be a day of Mud Mayhem presented by Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard at “The Pit�, located on the grounds of Virginia Motor Speedway.
The Pit at VMS is a state of the art mud bog facility featuring 200-foot Mud Bog and Mud Sling pits with permanent seating and lighting. There will be eight classes in action ranging from stock to unlimited with cash payouts in all classes.
Fans of all ages will be thrilled by the hordes of trucks splashing through the 200 foot Mud Bog pit and ground pounding 1500 horsepower Mud Dragsters covering the 200 foot Mud Sling pit in less than three seconds.
Gates and registration open at 9am with single eliminations for Stock A, B; Modified A, B, C along with X, XX and Unlimited Bog classes starting at 12 noon. Registration for Stock and Modified and Unlimited Bog classes ends at 11am with X and XX Unlimited ending at 1:00pm. Rules for each class are available online at www.thepitatvms.com.
Admission for the June 18th Mud Bog at The Pit at VMS will be: Adults - $12, students 7 – 17 years old - $10 and children 6 and under FREE.

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track, is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
