Mud Mayhem Mud Bog huge success at “The Pit� at VMS

Jamaica, VA – The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway hosted the first of two Mud Bog and Mud Sling’s for the 2010 season this past Saturday June 19th. The Mud Mayhem Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard drew a large crowd and huge field of competitors at the state of the art mud bog facility in Jamaica, VA.

The sunny temperatures and sunny skies provided a tremendous day for mud bogging with track records being set in two of the eight divisions. 92 different competitors took turns at the state of the art 200 foot pit for a total of 142 completed passes.

Winners in each class: Stock A – Phil Parrish in Swamp Thing; Stock B – Brian Edberg in Mouse Trap; Modified A – Kenny Crowder in Mr. Nasty Time 2; Modified B – Ryan Anderson in Son Uva Digger (New class track record at 5.202 seconds); Modified C – Herby Dorsett in Just Plyin’ (New class track record at 4.844 seconds); Unlimited Bog – Ricky Crowder in Muddy Money; X Cuts – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile; and XX Paddles – Chris Newton in Hostile Projectile. Tom Johnson in Mudderfinger took top Nitrous/Injector bonus in both the X Cut class and XX Paddle class.

The remaining event at The Pit at VMS is scheduled for Saturday October 2nd with the 6th Annual Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling presented by Rappahannock Tractor and the Virginia Army National Guard. The event is also sponsored by Davis Auto Sales and Davis off Road, ORI of Richmond, Churchview Septic and Construction and Monster Energy Drink.

The Pit at VMS is located on the grounds of Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and is situated on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The Speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
