Host Fastrak World Championship presented by James River Equipment This Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2015

Jamaica, VA – The wait is finally over as Virginia Motor Speedway will host the $15,000 to win Fastrak World Championships presented by James River Equipment this Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2015. The two-day event will include two complete shows culminating in the $15,000 to win Fastrak World Championships presented by James River Equipment. The weekend’s activities will begin Friday September 18th with a $5000 to win, 40 lap event that will include an extended practice, qualifying, heats, B-Mains and the40 lap feature. Saturday, September 19th the speedway will host the biggest race in Pro Late Model racing, the $15,000 to win Fastrak World Championships presented by James River Equipment. The 60 lap event will include practice, heats, B-Mains and the feature to crown a World Champion. Saturday’s activities will also include the BB&T Autograph session giving fans a chance to meeting some of the top Pro Late Model drivers in person. The speedway is offering a tremendous two-day ticket price of only $22. The special ticket will only be sold on Friday September 18th. The special price is to encourage fans to attend both nights of racing. A two-day pit pass (regardless of age) is only $40 and will also get you a seat in the grandstands as well for the two days. This race will feature the best of the best in Pro Late Model racing. Teams from Indiana, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting and biggest race of their career. Last year’s event saw 55 competitors compete with Tim Dohm of Charleston, WV crowned the 2014 Fastrak World Champion. Saturday ATV 4-Wheeler Accident Update: Crew Member OK and Back Home

Jamaica, VA — Officials at Virginia Motor Speedway are happy to announce that Brandon Parris, the crew member injured in the ATV accident on Saturday night, is doing very well and back home in South Carolina. Parris was released from VCU Medical Center on Sunday October 5th at 2pm. He suffered a fractured shoulder and some cuts and bruises. We would like to thank the entire safety staff, Mattaponi Rescue Squad, Life Evac and the staff at VMS Medical Center for the outstanding job done. We would also like to thank the fans in attendance for their patience and respect to the situation during the time we were attending to the crew member....

Tim Dohm takes $20,000 Fastrak World Championship; Long dominates non-qualifier and Qaude takes Modified checkers

Jamaica, VA – Tim Dohm of Charleston, WV battled with early race leader David Smith of Inman, SC side by side for 11 laps before finally taking the top spot on lap 27. Once out front Dohm survived several cautions with Jonathan Davenport behind him trying to get by for the lead. Dohm went on to take the $20,000 Fastrak World Championship by almost 3 seconds. “I’ve won some $10,000 to win races but this is amazing, the biggest win of my career,” commented an elated Dohm. “The car was just amazing, I could take it anywhere on the racetrack,” added Dohm. Rounding out the top five were twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport, Max Blair, Jimmy Shiltz and Rick Williams. B-Main wins went to Tyler Hersey, Johnathan Davenport and Kyle Thomas. Heat race winners on Friday night were Colby Cannon, Walker Arthur, David Smith, Chris Meadows, Jimmy Shiltz and Tim Dohm. In other action Matt Long of Concord, NC led flag to flag to win the Engine Builders Non-Qualifier 25 lap race and Matt Quade picked up the win in $2000 to win 30 lap Safety-Kleen Modified Rumble on the River. Colby Cannon and Walker Arthur led the 26 car field to green with Arthur taking the lead out of turn 2. On a restart on lap 3 Smith swept the outside of Arthur out of turn 4 to take the lead. Smith led the next 11 laps unchallenged, on lap 15 that all changed. Tim Dohm went to work on the outside as Smith worked the cushion. For the next 11 laps the two raced side by side with Smith holding on to the lead each time until lap 26 when Dohm finally got by for good out of turn 2. The driver on the move was twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport who woked his way to second by lap 32. On lap 34 he finally got by Smith for the spot with Corey Gordon following to third. On with twenty laps to go Dohm had stretched the lead to a full straight over the Davenport and Gordon battle. Gordon took second away on lap 50 while Dohm got slowed by a four wide battle in the back. Gordon gave up second on lap 52 when he came to stop with a flat left rear tire. On the final restart Davenport gave it one more shot but Dohm pulled away out of turn 2 and on to the $20,000 victory. Rounding out the top five were twentieth starting Jonathan Davenport, Max Blair, Jimmy Shiltz and Rick Williams. In the 25 lap Engine Builder Non-Qualifer race Joe Cox and Matt Long led the field to green with Long taking the lead out of turn 2. Once out front Long put it on cruise control while they battled for second behind him. Cox, Kenny Peebles and Josh Holtgraver all took turns at trying to run down Long for the lead in the caution filled event. Long went on in dominating fashion, never being challenged to pick up the $1500 win. In the Budweiser Modified $2000 to win Safety-Kleen Modified Rumble on the River 30 Matt Quade took the lead on lap 10 and never looked back and went on to collect the win. Bret Hamilton and Mike Reynolds led the field to green with Hamilton taking control of the lead out of turn 2. Hamilton paced the field until lap 9 when Quade dove under him in turn 2 to take the lead. Once out front Quade began to pull away from the battle for second. Joey Polevoy drove under Hamilton in turn one on lap 18 to take over second. A caution on lap 28 set up a green, white, checker finish. On the final restart Qaude pulled away and went on to the $2000 win. Rounding out the top five were Polevoy, Hamilton, Chris Arnold and Josh Harris. Matt Qaude also set a new division track record in qualifying with a lap of 18.901 seconds. The speedway will now switch gears and host the 10th Annual Down and Dirty Run-A-Muck Mud Bog and Mud sling presented by James River Equipment, RedNex Sporting Goods and the Virginia Army National Guard on Saturday October 11th. Cannon, Arthur, Smith, Meadows, Shiltz and Dohm heat wins lock them into $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship

Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature did her best to disrupt night 2 of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship but officials were able to get all six heat races in before rain suspended the $1000 winner take all “King of the Hill” race till after tonight’s events. In heat race action Colby Cannon, Walker Arthur, David Smith, Chris Meadows, Jimmy Shiltz and Tim Dohm picked up wins guaranteeing them a spot in tonight’s big $20,000 Fastrak World Championship finale. On heat race of note was heat race number three where Jonathan Davenport crossed the finish line as the winner only to not pass post-race inspection giving the win to 4-time Fastrak SE Touring Series Champion David Smith. In Fastrak World Championship qualifying David Smith set the overall fast time with an 18.604 second lap. That lap was just .005 of a second off the track record set this year by Daniel Baggerly. Tonight’s schedule of events for the Fastrak pro Late Model competitors will consist of hot laps, B-Mains and the 60 lap $20,000 to win feature. There will also be a $1500 to win Engine Builders non-qualifiers race that will start 24 cars. The remainder of the 25 lap “King of the Hill” feature will be run at the end of the program. It will pick up where it left off last night at lap 5. Joining the program tonight will be the track’s Budweiser Modified division for $2000 to win event. Fans will have a chance for a little Fastrak World Championship interaction with the Tire-X Pit Crew Challenge presented by the VA Army National Guard will being held under the main grandstands starting at 5pm. Speedway kicks off Fastrak World Championship with phenomenal practice

Jamaica, VA – The best Pro Late Model drivers in the country converged on Virginia Motor Speedway for the kick-off of the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship presented by Safety-Kleen. With the biggest field of the year on hand just to practice on the ½ mile speed plant, the excitement level is at a fever pitch. “The Super Bowl of PRO Late Model Racing” will pay out over $150,000+ in the two days of racing with a cool $20,000 going to the winner. Night one consisted of an open practice for the fifty-two competitors on hand and went extremely well and smooth. TireX of Richmond to sponsor Pit Crew Challenge at Fastrak World Championships; Cecil B, Arthur Beef Farm to sponsor Pit Crew Cook-off

Jamaica, VA – Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway are proud to announce that TireX, Inc has signed on to be the “Title Sponsor” of the 1st Annual Pit Crew Challenge presented by Virginia Army National Guard during the Saturday October 4th festivities for the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship and Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm has signed on to be “Title Sponsor” of the Pit Crew Cook-off on Thursday night October 2nd. On Thursday night October 2nd after open practice the track will host the very popular Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm “Pit Crew Cook Off”. This gives the crews a chance to be the stars for a change. $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship This Weekend October 2-4th

Jamaica, VA – The excitement level is at an all time high as Virginia Motor Speedway gets ready to host the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championships this Thursday through Saturday October 2-4th. This is the best of the best in Pro Late Model racing. Teams from Indiana, New York, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting race of their career. The event will also feature a $1000 to win “winner take all” King of the Hill race on Friday, a $1500 to win non-qualifiers race and a $2000 to win modified event on Saturday. The three-day event will also offer up plenty of fan interaction with the BB&T Autograph session on Saturday October 4thas well as the 1st Annual Pit Crew Challenge. The new and exciting event for the crews versus the fans will pay the fastest crew member $250 and the fastest fan $250 and then pit them against each other to see who takes home the big trophy. Thursday October 2nd will see FREE admission for everyone in the grandstands. Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 6pm. Practice will start at 8pm and run until 10pm. $2000 to Win Modified Event Added to Fastrak World Championship for Saturday Oct 4th

Jamaica, VA – Officials at Virginia Motor Speedway have announced that the speedway will host a $2000 to win Modified event in conjunction with the running of the Fastrak World Championship on Saturday October 4th. The Fastrak World Championship will have the best Pro Late Model drivers in the country battling for the $20,000 top prize October 2-4th. The 30 lap modified event will pay $2000 to win and $140 to start the A-Main and will be a one day show. The event will feature group qualifying, heats, B-Main(s) and the 30 lap feature all on Saturday October 4th. There will be a $25 entry fee and pit passes will be $30 (one-day pass). Both Hoosier Tire and American Race Tire compounds will be allowed but must be E-Mod tires (soft, medium, hard – all accepted). UMP, IMCA, EDGE and AMRA body rules will be permitted. Engines rules will consist of a 383 CID max with the top five being pumped in post race inspection. Any 4-barrel or 2-barrel carburetor allowed (single carb only). Car weight is 2450 pounds with driver. Virginia Motor Speedway general rules will apply.
