Jamaica, VA – Saturday June 16th one regional super late model driver’s career could change in the span of 60 laps with a career best win and a $20,000 payday for winning the 42nd annual USA 100 presented by WhosYourDriver.org at Virginia Motor Speedway. With both national tour’s scheduled to race in other areas of the country, the USA 100 is set to be one of the largest paydays for the East Coast’s regional super late model drivers. And with such a big payday on the line, some of the best dirt late model drivers in the region will be making the trip to the ½ mile speed plant located in Jamaica, VA. If you are a fan of dirt late model racing this will be the show to be at June 16th. The event will be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series and will feature a 60 lap A-Main paying the winner a cool $20,000. The event will also feature a $3000 to win FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance race for Pro Late Model competitors. “If you are a fan of short track racing you do not want to miss this event; the best dirt late model racers on the East Coast will be vying for that huge $20,000 check in one of the biggest short track events in the State of Virginia,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer. Jamaica, VA – Speedway management has made the decision to cancel racing activities for Saturday June 2nd due to the unfavorable forecast that includes heavy thunderstorms and a Flash Flood Warning until early Sunday Morning. This is the second rainout of the 2018 season. The speedway will now host Gloucester S.T.A.R. Kids Night and week 6 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season Saturday June 9th. The night will feature the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action. “We are extremely disappointed in losing another race to weather, but the safety of our fans, competitors and staff is our utmost concern and would not want to take a chance of putting them or their families in any kind of danger”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. Sawyer added, “S.T.A.R. Jamaica, VA – Virginia Motor Speedway has released the tentative schedule for the 2018 season. It will mark the 49th season of action at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA. The schedule includes twelve (12) nights of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action, two Ultimate Super Late Model sanctioned events – the April 14th $20,000 to win Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth and the $20,000 to win 42ND Annual USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports; the $20,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship presented by James River Equipment weekend and two mud bogs at the facilities state-of-the-art 200 mud bog pit. The 49thAnnual season opening event will take place on Saturday evening April 7TH featuring a full program of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship action that will include the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock divisions. The season’s first special event will be April 14th and see the return of the Ultimate Super Late Model Series for the $20,000 to win Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth along with a $3000 to win FASTRAK National event for Pro Late Models. The event will have a Sunday April 15th rain date. June 16TH the Ultimate Super Late Model Series stars and cars will return for the 42ND Annual USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports and pay $20,000 to win. There will also be a $3000 to win FASTRAK National event for Pro Late Models. The event will have a Sunday June 17th rain date. The 2018 FASTRAK World Championship returns September 14-15, 2018 and will once again pay $20,000 to win. The weekend will also include a $5000 to win FASTRAK World Challenge event for FASTRAK members only and with a weekend support division to be announced. Northern Neck Chevrolet / Collision One Night will benefit FeedMore and the Northern Neck Food Bank which is in dire need of food and monetary donations. In an effort to help restock the shelves at the Northern Neck Food Bank the speedway will offer a FREE general admission ticket for every five (5) non-perishable food items donated this Saturday night. Help us stamp out hunger in our community. Items of need include: peanut butter, canned tuna & chicken, low sodium veggies, fruits packed in juice, spaghetti sauce (no glass containers), canned or dry beans, hot & cold cereal and whole grain snacks.
