Speedway to Postpone WRAR / WNNT Night till Saturday April 28; Focus Now on King of the Commonwealth

Jamaica, VA – Due to extreme cold temperatures and the forecast for rain and snow this Saturday, Virginia Motor Speedway officials have postponed WRAR / WNNT Night racing activities for Saturday April 7, 2018 till Saturday, April 28th. April 28th will now be the opening night of the 2018 Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season. The program will include extra practice for all four weekly divisions. “We hate that we have to lose the first week of the season, but with the cold temperatures and wet weather it is the best interest of our fans and competitors to cancel racing activities for this Saturday”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer. The speedway will now shift its focus to next week’s $20,000 to win Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth featuring the Ultimate Super Late Model cars and stars in a $20,000 to win, 60 lap feature and the FASTRAK Chevrolet Performance Late Models in a $3000 to win, 40 lap event. Thirty-two competitors are already confirmed for this huge event. If you are a fan of Dirt Late Model racing this is the show to see. Admission price for Adults $30, seniors (60+) $25; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $20, students 11 – 17 years old $15 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes (regardless of age) will be $45. 16” coolers are welcomed but no glass is allowed. There is plenty of free lit parking and camping (no hookups) is allowed at no charge on a first come first served basis. Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA.
