Speedway signs multi-year contract to host the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship

Jamaica, VA – After unprecedented interest by competitors in the 2014 $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship to be held at Virginia Motor Speedway on October 2-4, 2014 officials at both Virginia Motor Speedway and Fastrak Racing are proud to announce that a new contract has been signed that will keep the “Super Bowl” of Pro Late Models at Virginia Motor Speedway through the 2016 season. The three year deal also includes an option for an additional three years. “With the addition of the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division at our speedway and with the early interest in the World Championship in only makes sense to extend the contract and let everyone know that the “Super Bowl” for Pro Late Models has a home well into the future ,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer. This year’s Fastrak World Championships will have a new and improved format that will include a $10,000 to win Fastrak Northeast Regional Race-Off as well as a $10,000 to win Fastrak Southeast Regional Race-Off before heading to Virginia Motor Speedway for the final $20,000 World Championship event. Should someone win all three events that person will pocket an additional $10,000 bonus, making it a $50,000 total payday. All three events will be paid each night of the World Championships. It has already been announced that the Northeast Regional Race-Off will be contested at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV on September 18 – 20, 2014 and that the Southeast Regional Race-Off will be contested at Princeton Speedway in Princeton, WV on September 25 – 27, 2014. “I was surprised when I received the call from Bill Sawyer but very grateful to hear that he suggested extending the contract to three years. Jamaica, VA – The buzz surrounding the re-branded Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth and the first ever appearance of the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) has prompted track owner Bill Sawyer to once again offer the fans an exceptional “Fan Friendly” ticket pricing package for the $20,000 to win, one-day show on Saturday April 12, 2014. “I think it’s important that we look after the working man’s pocketbook to make it affordable for him to be able to come to Virginia Motor Speedway for our biggest show of the year. Jamaica, VA – The tentative 2014 schedule for Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway has been released and includes 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action, three special events and two mud bogs. During the 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action the speedway will feature six nights of the very popular twin race format that was utilized during the past two seasons. The track’s always competitive weekly divisions begin their race for the division Championships and the Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series Championship on Saturday April 19th and end with the final point’s race of the season on Saturday September 13th. This year’s division line-up will once again include the Victory Lap Late Models, Aaron’s Pro Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars. Opening up the 2014 season will be the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth and feature the first ever visit by the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL). The one day $20,000 event is expected to bring some of the nationals top super late model drivers back to the Commonwealth of Virginia for what will be one of the best races of the year. Returning for 2014 will be the Ultimate Super Late Model Series on Saturday May 17th as they sanction the 35th Annual USA 100. For the first time in 2014 the speedway will host the Super Bowl of Pro Late Model racing, the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship on October 2-4th. Along with the weekly racing action and the special events the speedway will also host two mud bogs at its state of the art mud bog facility that will be celebrating its tenth year of racing.
