Sommey Lacey sweeps Victory Lap Late Model action; Jamerson, Galloway and Adkins also get wins

Jamaica, VA – With a stout field of Victory Lap Late Models on hand for Armed Forces Appreciation Night at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway one car stood out from the onset of the evenings racing activities. Sommey Lacey Jr. of Clement, MD made his first start of the 2010 season in his #23 Belka Corporation Mastersbilt count as he took out the broom and swept the evenings events for the division. The night started with Lacey setting a new division track record with a lap of 18.340 seconds in hot lap time trials. He then inverted the top four putting Tom Cohick and Matt Morgan on the front row for the start of the 35 lap feature....

Meyers takes Paul Sawyer Memorial; Long repeats as Victory Lap Late Model feature winner

Jamaica, VA – After two very disappointing events in Pennsylvania Jason Meyers of Clovis, CA rolled into Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway for the NAPA of King William and Tappahannock Paul Sawyer Memorial hoping that a track that has been good to him could turn his fortunes around. At nights end Meyers had beat back his gremlins to pick up his fifth win of the season on the very tough World of Outlaws tour. Jason Sides and Joey Saldana led the field to green with Sides taking control of the event pulling away from the field from the drop of the green. On lap seven Jason Meyers would work the outside of Saldana taking the spot out of turn 2. Myers then set out to catch Sides who was now working lapped traffic....

Long takes Victory Lap Late Model victory; Traylor, Maxey and Toole also victorious on WRAR/WNNT Night

Jamaica, VA – With a new baby in his household there was added incentive to bring home a Victory Lap Late Model victory for Stevie Long of Mechanicsville, MD. With a very strong tenth place starting ride Long worked his way to the lead by lap 7 as he out dueled rookie Matt Marshall to the line to take the top spot. Once out front Long was on cruise control in his #44 Advance Metal Concepts. Dean Guy Masonry, Quality Auto Body, Clarke’s Landing, Triple K Fence sponsored Rocket, leading by as much as a full straightaway. With three to go the races fifth and final caution closed the field on longs bumper. On the final restart Marshall took a peak to his inside in turn 1 but that was all he would get as he worked to fend off Davis Lipscombe for second with Long motoring on to the victory....
