Middlesex County Museum

The Middlese County Museum in Saluda, in the old clerk’s office adjacent to the courthouse, is open through August 31 from 10am-3pm, Monday through Friday. On display is a variety of memorabilia, including military items, Indian relics, toys, personal effects, maritime, agricultural and industrial tools. Operated by the Middlesex County Museum Board and staffed by volunteers, the exhibits are free to the public. The Middlesex County Museum dates to Depression days when it was inaugurated by the WPA, and is the oldest county museum in the state. It was closed during World War II, but was reopened at the time of the nation’s bicentennial in 1976.
