Jamaica, VA – Speedway management has made the decision to cancel racing activities for Saturday June 2nd due to the unfavorable forecast that includes heavy thunderstorms and a Flash Flood Warning until early Sunday Morning. This is the second rainout of the 2018 season.
The speedway will now host Gloucester S.T.A.R. Kids Night and week 6 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season Saturday June 9th. The night will feature the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action.
“We are extremely disappointed in losing another race to weather, but the safety of our fans, competitors and staff is our utmost concern and would not want to take a chance of putting them or their families in any kind of danger”, commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer.
Sawyer added, “S.T.A.R. Kids Night is very special to us which makes this decision even more difficult, but we will move their night to next Saturday June 9th.”

Make plans to be here the next two weeks as the speedway hosts the rescheduled S.T.A.R. Kids Night and weekly racing action next Saturday June 9th and then the speedway will host the speedway’s second major event of the 2018 season, the $20,000 to win 42nd Annual USA 100 presented by WhosYourDriver.org on Saturday June 16th. A Sunday June 17 rain date has been established should it be needed.
